Construction Update #18

Emily and Laura are coming to visit this weekend because of Mother's Day.  One of the highlights of their visit for me will be the chance to show them the changes in the new house.  They are mainly cosmetic but they make a difference.

This week's changes are as follows:

Almost all of the trim and molding has been applied to the main floor.
The basement flooring was installed today.
All the doors have handles on the main floor.
The fireplace mantel was installed and they took the cardboard off of the fireplace insert.
The toilets are installed.
The laundry room sink was installed.
The bathroom tubs have faucets and shower heads.
Water is connected.
Outside soffits have been applied around the roof line at the back of the house.
The bricklayers continued laying brick even though one of them had a problem with his medication and had to be rushed to the emergency room.  All the bricklayers are healthy as of this writing.

However, the best construction update was the addition of the upstairs deck and the safety railing.

Once the railing was installed, we took all the dogs out on the deck with us.
