Exploring

Mike and I explored the countryside this last weekend.  We actually had a goal.  We had seen an ad in the Bond County Shopper for hanging baskets at a Zimmerman's Greenhouse near Vandalia.  Next to the ad they mentioned that this particular weekend there was going to be a town sponsored chicken dinner and local trade show.  I think it was a toss up which interested me most - the chicken dinner with homemade ice cream and baked goods or the hanging plants.  Fortunately we did both.

Zimmerman's Greenhouse front porch.
I limited myself to only one hanging basket so it took awhile to narrow down my choice.

The parking lot at the chicken dinner.
This is an Amish community and the dinner was a fundraiser for the local school.
This is the tenth year for this event.

The homemade ice cream was very popular.
This guy was kept busy making enough ice cream.
