Mother's Day 2015
Mother's Day for me this year was really one whole weekend. Emily came up Friday night and agreed to go to breakfast with me Saturday morning at 2Martha's in Greenville. 2Martha's does catering and is only open for breakfast or lunch on Friday and Saturday. They also have a gift shop full of items from local artists. This is my kind of place. Then Emily and I went grocery shopping so she could prepare dinner for Grandma and I in honor of Mother's Day.
Laura arrived later on Saturday. She brought the dessert. It was a cake from our favorite bakery in Carbondale. It was delicious as usual.
On Sunday, all four of us went to early service. The pastor gave each of the mother's a coupon for a free treat at the local Dairy Queen. He wanted us to make a memory with our loved ones. Well, we certainly did that. For the rest of the day, we put the girls to work. Both girls helped pull moss out of the pond. Then Emily dug up dirt in my now pumpkin patch. While she was doing that, Laura helped me put up some shade fabric over the chicken pens so the chickens and ducks could stay cool in the hot weather. I didn't even make them lunch. Emily did. But I did take them to Dairy Queen and bought them their own treats. I'm now a little worried that they won't come back until next Mother's Day. I may have made too good a memory.
