Getting Ready
My brother and his family are coming soon for their second annual visit to the Peterson pond. Mike and I have started getting ready. First thing I did was make Mike's to do list. Progress however had been slow.
Mike has been trying. One of the goals was to clear some hiking paths on the property. We have had lots of rain and they are overgrown. The problem is that the DR mower is broken. Mike is nearly on a first name basis with all the phone sales people at DR. He has had package after package of replacement parts sent to us (we are waiting on our third one) and the mower still isn't operational.
Then I asked him to put some mortar hooks in the outside brick so I could hang some wreaths. That task was actually completed yesterday but now we need some wreaths. I am hoping my niece and nephew will help me make some when they come visit.
Mike was able to fix the kayaks yesterday. The seat back on one of them was broken so I went ahead and bought new seats for both kayaks. He tested them out yesterday and they worked. They are different then the previous seats so we shall have to see how everyone like them. In the meantime, we took them back off the kayaks so they will be like new when everyone gets here in August.
We will continue to work on getting ready for our August visitors. Today we are expecting a delivery of something that the Spilsbury's should enjoy when they come. Stay tuned for more information.
