Getting Ready to Quilt
When I am asked about my hobbies, I always mention that I like to quilt. Which is a true statement as far as it goes. The problem has been that I haven't quilted for years. First, I was working and just didn't have time for my hobby. And then last year when I had the time I didn't have the space. I was living in a 500 square foot apartment and I couldn't quilt and still live there at the same time. I am just too messy of a quilter.
So I have been living in my new house now for five weeks and feel that the time has come to resume my hobby. With this goal in mind, I unpacked my sewing machine and found all my patterns, thread, scissors and quilt rulers. But then I had a mess on my hands so I had to organize my sewing room. I couldn't do this all myself. I had to have Mike hang up some baskets and all my quilt rulers. Then I decided I needed some bookcase type storage so we had to run to our favorite store (Menards) and get some. Then Mike had to help me set them up. Then I decided I didn't have enough so we had to go back to Menards.
Anyway to make a long story short, the sewing room is done and I am ready to quilt. I even already had the next quilt project. I bought it years ago at the Houston Quilt Show. Let the fun begin.
I actually opened my cutting table and laid out my fabric! |
Another view of the sewing room. It was suppose to be a guest room but plans change. |
Here are all my quilt or cutting rulers organized and ready for me to begin. |
