The Spilsbury Visit

Even though the Spilsbury kids were on summer break, doesn't mean their visit was all fun and games.  We managed to squeeze in some educational moments too.

History

We learned about life in New Salem, Illinois during Lincoln's time.  We saw a blacksmith at work, saw a weaving loom in use and learned about Lincoln's introduction to the works of Shakespeare.

Science

We made our own homemade ice cream using kid (and Dad) power and ice and rock salt.  And yes, it was edible.
