Living the Big Chill

I am staying here.  I left Mike behind and came to this 'Big Chill' house in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with 6 of my friends from my working days at Shell.  We have spent most of our time so far in Charleston.   It is only a 10 minute drive from this wonderful house.

This house has four bedrooms and can hold us all.

One of my favorite architectural features - a wrap around porch.

A view from the back porch.  We are looking at Molasses Creek which feeds the Wando River.
We have seen several container ships go by that are close enough to count the containers stacked on the deck.

Mary in the sitting room off the kitchen.  An intense game of cards was played in there Sunday night.
I say intense because our most senior group member claimed conspiracy because she was losing.
She said all the younger members had ganged up on her.
I won't name names but she is getting more like her mother everyday.
Here is a group shot taken at our first restaurant visit.  We had Saturday lunch at High Cotton.
In order are Carla, Patty (our trip organizer), Lynne, Krista, Mary, me and Aleene.

After lunch at High Cotton, we walked the downtown area and then stopped for liquid refreshment.
My hair looks different from the above picture because of Southern humidity and some rain.
Right afterwards we took a carriage ride that was a very informative tour .  Our guides were Josh and his horse Dakota.
We ended the first day eating dinner from Whole Foods back at the house.

A rematch of Phase 10 occurred on Monday night.
Previously mentioned senior member made it to phase 4.
She also was considered such a threat by another player that they made her skip her turn.
Not once during the game was there a mention of an age conspiracy.
What a difference in Lynne's attitude when she is not losing.

I am afraid all the things you say about Lynne are true. I get more worried about her by the day.

Second I would like some credit for winning the second night of Phase I0. I did not see that noted. I assume you will also hear from Krista asking for credit for winning the first night.

I am most anxious to follow this blog through those awful midwest winter days. Say hi to our friend from Germany.
