Entertaining Frankie or Completing Chores
Frankie, our new puppy, doesn't like being cooped up in his run in our mud room. This means that Mike has to take Frankie with him wherever he goes (else Frankie yips and howls). It also means that Mike can't really sit in his office or watch TV because Frankie wants to be entertained. So Mike and Frankie have spent a lot of time outside lately completing Mike's chores.
For example, the other day Mike fixed the outside door handle on the shed that has been loose for months. And today, he planted the live Christmas tree. It has been sitting on the back porch since December while Mike said he was waiting for a day in which the ground wasn't too muddy or frozen.
Mike also has once again taken over letting the chickens and ducks out in the morning. He rises early. Then he grabs Frankie and they both head over to the chicken coop. Mike mentioned that this mornings chicken chores took longer than normal because Mike had to get Frankie detangled from the wires of the electric fence. (Yes, it has been turned off since Frankie began 'helping' with the chores.)
Another good chore for wearing out, I mean, entertaining Frankie is to go get the photo card from the trail camera. They did that today also.
So apparently having Frankie around has brought us to a new level of productivity at the pond. Now I can only hope it will continue as there are a lot more items on Mike's todo list.
