Grass
We need grass in the backyard. It remains one big dirt ,and after it rains, mud pit. With six dogs going in and out the doggy door, we need to do something to keep the outside dirt and mud from becoming inside dirt and mud. So planting grass in the backyard became Mike's first spring project.
First, Mike had to level the ground. We still have a mountain of dirt so he was able to grab some to add to the backyard.
Frankie helped.
Then Mike used the tiller to loosen up the ground. He actually did this over several days.

Finally, he planted the grass seed which he then covered with three straw bales. I wasn't around for this but Frankie helped.
Then Mike rolled the ground to press the seeds further in to the tilled dirt. It was a good thing he did this because we have had 30 mile per hour winds for two days now and the straw is blowing away.

This time Frankie (and Blackie) just decided to watch.
