Experiencing Mother Nature
Our pond has become a popular habitat for several different bird species lately. Just yesterday I saw eight wood ducks, two geese and one heron.
The geese and the ducks have become regulars at our end of the pond. We have two logs popping out of the water right in back of the house. This is a popular spot for bird activity.
Our domestic birds had a bit of excitement yesterday. We had wind gust of up to 30 miles per hour and a dead tree located just inches from the chicken pen fell down. Mike and I weren't there to see this happen so I don't know how our poultry handled the falling tree but I notice they don't hang around that part of the chicken pen anymore. We were fortunate that the tree did not fall across the chicken pen and both our chicken coops. Instead it fell to the side where it nearly decimated last years living Christmas tree.

Mother Nature sure keeps things interesting around here.
