Mushroom Hunting Week Three

Emily and Laura came to join the more expert mushroom hunters Lois, Bill and Mike over the weekend.  Mike immediately made it a competition.


On Saturday, Mike, Laura and Bill went mushroom hunting.  Mike found one mushroom and Laura found nine.  Bill found five.  Mike was not pleased.  Laura immediately sent pictures to her co-workers in Missouri.  They had thought she was kidding when she said she was going to spend the weekend mushroom hunting.


On Sunday, Mike, Laura, Lois and Emily went mushroom hunting.  Emily found five.  Lois found 10.  Laura found one and Mike found nine.  That leaves Mike and Laura tied for the weekend.

On Saturday night, all the mushroom hunters and Frank and myself had dinner at our house.  Mike taught Emily how to fry the mushrooms and those were our appetizers.  Then for dessert we had cake from our favorite bakery in Carbondale.  When they asked Emily how she wanted her cake decorated, she mentioned that the weekend was all about mushroom hunting.  I guess these Carbondale bakers know all about mushroom hunting because the cake was perfectly and creatively decorated.
