Vat19

Sela and Andy have added to our St. Louis tour stops.  Sela is a fan (along with 2,999,999 others) of Vat19 funny videos.  Their headquarters are in St. Louis so we stopped by and visited them the other day.

For those of you who do not know (like me), Vat19 is (according to their Facebook page) a purveyor of curiously awesome products for your house, office, car and your outdoor adventures.  (I do not know under which category the gummy cheeseburger Eli bought would fall.  House?) Their mission is to showcase products with high quality video, great photography and engaging commentary.  Sela and Andy say their videos are hilarious.

We dropped in on the Vat19 staff during their workday although they often have tours.  Erica graciously and thoughtfully led us on our own personalized tour.  Erica used to handle photography but now she is in the product end of the business.  She does not normally give tours so she was nervous but I'd say she did a fantastic job.

Sela is apparently not the only fan.  They are currently papering the walls with art work received in the mail from their viewers.  Note also that they have won a few awards.  You Tube gave them the plaque on the wall for hitting one million subscribers.

Here we are with the writers.

We knew they were the writers because Erica told us and because of the sign on the door.  They modestly said they put it there for inspiration.

Also included on our tour was the sets, the video editing department (where we viewed a video not yet shown to the public) and the warehouse where we got to see 600 items and purchase a few.

On our way out, Erica introduced us to some of the in front of the camera personalities.  Definitely a great tour!
