Crafts of Fall
This time of year seems to inspire crafting.  Between my new embroidery machine and all the holidays this season, I have found many project ideas.  And I actually tried some of them.

First I made autumn placemats for my kitchen table.  Now the colors on the table match the colors I am seeing out the kitchen window.

Next, I completed one more decorating project for Halloween. I saw a bat pattern at a an Holiday Expo at my quilt store and immediately thought of how well that would go with my batty mantel scarf.  So I made a few.  They are now hanging off the chandelier in my front hallway.  I think my trick or treaters will get a kick out of them.

Then at my first embroidery class, we were told to embroider a kitchen towel.  We could pick any design we wanted and somehow I ended up with a fall leaf project.  I was so pleased with how it came out that I sent it to Emily to use in her kitchen.

In the meantime, I received a fun DIY craft idea in my email.  I just had to try it.  It involved candy and Halloween and looked easy.  My kind of project.  Now I just have to find some people to give them to.

I'm beginning to think that it is a good thing that Halloween is next week.  While I am in the crafting mood I think I had better move away from Halloween and start thinking about Christmas.  Maybe I will even make some Christmas presents.
