Lois's Adventure

As Mike says, when the cat's away the mice will play.  That's what happened when I left town over the weekend.   While I was gone Laura came to visit Mike.  Lois, Mike's mom, enjoys Laura's visit too so she came over to our house also.

The first thing Laura did was to make Mike and Lois cookies.  This has become a ritual when Laura visits.  Once she had done her thing, she settled in the basement to watch TV and sit with Blackie on the new couch.  Only one problem, the TV had been disconnected because of the building of the new fireplace.  Laura was not pleased so Mike immediately went to the trouble to temporarily hook it back up.

This was not a satisfactory arrangement for either of them.  Mike did not want to put this old TV back up on the wall and Laura had just discovered we were out of Dairy Queen Dilly Bars.  Mike immediately ran to town to get her a box.  

The next morning after church, Mike and Laura invited Lois to join them for a ride.  I do not know if Lois realized what she was getting into.  They took her to Sam's and got her pizza for lunch.  While she was eating at the food court there, Mike went and bought a TV.  

Afterwards, I guess he felt this might have not been a very exciting event for Lois so he took her a few towns over to see where they used to live when Mike was in high school.  If this picture is any indication she enjoyed her trip down memory lane.  

Once they returned home, Lois braved the basement stairs and watched as Mike and Laura put the new television on the wall.  Then she had to wait to watch it until Mike hooked up the Directv box.  Laura had to take this picture.  It was an unusual sight seeing Mike on his hands and knees in the fireplace with his hands floating above it.     

Finally the television was set up and everybody watched something on TV that I would have probably hated like Blue Bloods or NCIS.  So I guess things worked out for the best.  I got to spend time with my sister in Las Vegas and these three Peterson's got a chance to enjoy themselves without me hampering their fun.  Nevertheless, I may have to instigate some rules before I leave town the next time.  Number one will be no TV purchases.
