Laura

Laura had a free weekend available so she decided to come for a visit.  I, on the other hand, had plans for a busy weekend.  As a result, visitor Laura had a busy weekend too.

First she made cookies (with some assistance from Lilly) per her dad's request.

Then I made her go shopping with me.  I wanted to fill an Operation Christmas Child box with toys but I needed help picking them out.  I figured since Laura worked with children she might be in a better position than myself to select items that would 'wow' a child.  Unfortunately, at least according to Laura, she ended up finding some clothing items for herself and her friends new baby girl.  I think they were excellent purchases.

We also held Pastor Appreciation Sunday at our church and I had my Sunday school class make a card.  It was a poster size card and Laura helped me sketch the lettering so the kids could ink it in.  They had a blast in Sunday school putting it together and it was a very popular item at the church luncheon.

Then Laura mentioned that her apartment complex was having their annual pumpkin carving event.  So I helped her pick out the biggest pumpkin we could find and I lent her my pumpkin carving tool set and battery powered pumpkin light.  Now that she has patio furniture, a carved pumpkin would be the perfect holiday addition to her patio.

Of course, Laura is always on notice when she comes to visit that she must take pictures for the blog. This is one of my favorites.  Here she is recording me taking pictures for the blog.

Despite the fact that I made Laura work this weekend, she left happy.  That maybe because she got to leave with leftover chicken pot pie, homemade bread and ate my Texas Sheet Cake at the church potluck or because she spent quality time with her parents.  I guess we will never know for sure.
