Enjoying Family Time

After Christmas Day, we were able to relax and enjoy time together and of course, with our presents.  At least, everybody was relaxing with the exception of Suzanne.  Her new watch was keeping track of her movements in calories expended, miles walked, active time and hours standing.  She actually started to feel compelled to meet the goals she had set.  As a result, she, Heath and Finn were walking four miles a day.  Finn loved it.  Heath loved it as well because for the first time ever Finn was actually worn out by the end of the day.

I, on the other hand, now had time to catch up on my Christmas Hallmark movies.  I grabbed a cup of coffee, put on my Hallmark Christmas socks (a gift from my husband) and got comfortable on the couch.

I also needed to make some meals for the group.  However, that was fun because I got to use the new wood cutting board that Heath made me.  It works and looks great.

Heath expressed a stray wish for blueberry pie so Suzanne made him one out of the new pie cookbook Heath's mom, Stacy, gave her.  Mike went fishing and Heath joined him.  Emily grabbed Frankie and went stand up paddle boarding with him.   Laura could take only so much relaxing before she headed back to her apartment in St. Louis to teach CrossFit classes.  She discovered a flat tire when she got there so she missed the O'Fallen shopping trip that Suzanne, Heath, Emily and I took.

I was finally able to get us all back together in one place for a weenie roast.  Of course, Suzanne does not eat meat and Emily was working very hard on finishing a quilt top so the only two people who were actually photographed enjoying the weenie roast were Laura and I.

Emily was able to finish the quilt top while on break.  It came out wonderfully.  I'm not sure why the sudden urgency to finish this top (its been sitting in a closet for several years) other than she now lives in San Francisco and there is no heating vent in her bedroom.  Apparently she needs another blanket.

So we were able to relax, enjoy our presents and be productive all at the same time.
