The Cubs, Continued
The following morning, the entire Peterson clan met in the hotel restaurant. Even though they had been out late the night before, the group who had gone to the comedy club were alert and excited to head over to the baseball stadium. Well, they were after getting some coffee. And we were treated to a rare sight. Laura actually demonstrated one of her rarely used cooking skills. She actually made her own toast at the buffet. I had to record the whole thing.
After breakfast we walked 0.9 of a mile to the transit station to catch the Red Line. Little did we know that on the weekends, they closed part of the line for repairs. We were able to ride for several stations until the train was stopped and all riders were transferred to buses. We were taken to the next open transit station where we could pick up the red line to continue our journey to downtown. Partially as a result of this delay when we got downtown, we stopped to get some coffee. We also convinced Suzanne to grab her vegetarian lunch at Gayles best ever grilled cheese. Then we were on our way again. We still managed to get to Wrigley Field in time to tour the stadium and take some pictures.
The game did not go well for the Cubs. They lost. This time Emily was upset. So we worked to cheer her up. We found her some healthy tacos for lunch and we started roaming the stadium and taking a lot of pictures.
Mike even found a place where we could take some pictures of the Chicago skyline.
After the game we again grabbed dinner at Smoke Daddy BBQ. It had something for everyone including dessert. Then we headed got on the train to go back to downtown Chicago. What were we going to do next?
