A New Puppy

Last Monday, I was busy finishing up some quilts on my sewing machine so Mike went to St. Louis to visit Laura on his own.  It turned out leaving the two of them alone together was not one of my best ideas.  While Mike was supposedly hanging a window blind for her, the two of them concocted a plan with some instigation from Emily.  All three decided it was time to get a Bassett Hound puppy.  As a result, Mike and I and our dogs Frankie and Lilly took an eleven hour car trip through Missouri on Tuesday to bring home our newest family member.

We named her Della because in real life Frank, Mike's dad, has a sister named Della.  And since we already have a Bassett Hound named Frank (named after Frank because he always named his dogs after our girls), we thought Frank's Bassett Hound 'sister' should be named Della.  Della, Frank's sister, loved us naming the pup after her but said that Della the dog is the prettier of the two of them.

Frank and Lilly were not thrilled about the new puppy.  But now that some time has past, she has worn them down or should I say out.  They all play together a lot.

We have had lots of visitors since Della came into our lives.  Laura and Suzanne both showed up on Wednesday night to meet Della.  Neither sister wanted the other to meet Della first so they both had to arrive on the same day.  On Friday, both girls were back and Heath came too.

Now Emily is the only immediate family member who needs to meet Della  However, Emily lives in California so right now she will just have to be content with daily 'Della and Friends' videos and some SnapChat photos posted by her sisters.
