Autumn

I have missed the normal activities of autumn like the apple festivals and craft shows.  However, there have still been many moments to enjoy.

In October (actually September because I just could not wait), I decorated for Halloween.  Here Lilly is checking out my gazebo decorations.

The weather finally turned cooler.  In autumn, when the overnight temperatures drop and the pond water temperature is still warm, steam comes off the pond in the early morning.

Once colder weather arrived, the leaves on the trees turned colors.

Also this autumn, my azaleas bloomed.  Other people have gorgeous looking azaleas in the spring.  Not me.  I do not know why but I suspect my not so stellar gardening skills are a factor.

The wind picked up and the leaves fell off the trees.  This is not Mike's favorite part.

I attempted to grow fall vegetables.  Ever the optimist, in the fall I hope for better luck than I had with my summer vegetables.

And November is on the horizon.  For instance, Laura's birthday is coming soon.  And Thanksgiving.  No wonder this is my favorite time of year.
