I may need an egg basket
At this point in the year, only Abigail the duck is laying any eggs. I find that the later I get to the chicken coop in the morning the dirtier this egg can be so I try to get there as close to 7:15 am as I can. Usually Abigail lays this egg in her nest which is also full of pine shavings and other stuff she leaves in there. If it is not in the nest she lays her egg directly on the ground which is invariably wet and also covered in you know what.
So today was one of my late days. I opened the door and quickly surveyed for eggs not expecting to find any in the nest. But I was in for a shock! For the first time ever there were two eggs in the duck nest. The were laying right next to each other touching. Now we have a mystery. Are these two eggs from the same duck or one egg from each of the ducks?
Construction Update: Here is what the guys did yesterday.
