Warmer weather

It was 8 degrees this morning when I let the poultry out of the chicken coop.  Actually I opened the door but they weren't much interested in the outside.  With the sun out the chicken coop was much warmer on the inside than the outside.  My next step was to get fresh water for my birds.

To come out or not to come out.  That is Winifred's question.

Providing water for the chickens and ducks has been more difficult since this very cold weather started.  I have taken to keeping the hose and the nozzle in the shed overnight so they thawed enough to use in the morning.  But this morning I encountered another problem.  After I hooked the hose up to the outdoor faucet I couldn't turn the handle.  It was frozen.

Once I finally got the poultry their food and water I ran errands.  There were quite a few people out.  It was the first sunny day we have had in awhile and it warmed up pretty quickly.  I knew the construction workers had decided the weather was warm enough to get back to work on our house  because I found this when I returned home.

This will be used to hoist the roof trusses in place I think.
I will know on Monday.
