A break in the cold
Saturday morning began with snow. All the paths that Mike and I had created earlier in the week were covered with snow again. But the good news was it was going to be much warmer. Above freezing.
I was so thrilled by this that I put water in the duck pond. You can see the ducks immediate response below.

While Mike and I were shoveling snow off the front porch we must have inadvertently hit a porch post or something because all of a sudden we had an avalanche. All the snow slid off the porch side of the shed roof. The good news is we don't have to worry about any snow falling off the roof onto an unsuspecting visitor but the bad news is my landscaping is buried. Mike claims the snow will insulate my plants in this continued cold weather and they will thrive. I suspect just the opposite. I guess time will tell.

| The only evidence of my porch landscaping is a few branches showing from my bush. See circled area. All the other plants are deeply buried. |
