Construction Update #12

The dry wall guys showed up this morning very early.  Fortunately Mike had installed a wireless driveway alarm so I knew they were here before I let the dogs out.  That way I knew I needed to be dressed before I opened the front door.

It was our understanding the dry wall installers are to install the ceilings and outside walls first.  Then the insulator guys can come in and blow in the insulation .  This would make it much warmer for everyone working indoors.  As of today, the ceilings are about two thirds completed.

You can see the dry wall ceilings are installed in the master bedroom and bath.
The hole in the master bedroom is where the tray ceiling goes up another foot.
The higher ceiling hasn't been installed yet.

I mentioned the builders goal of getting the house insulated because we are heading into a cold spell.  Today the weather dropped from 37 degrees when I got up to the low 20's by four pm.  And we had wind gusts of 30 mph.  Mike and I took a walk while the guys were working and it was pretty cold.   I don't envy our construction workers or dry wallers working in a cold house.

Here I am on today's walk.
I am wearing a wool Buff around my neck.  A Buff is a multifunctional headgear that I got as a Christmas present.
This is only one out of at least eight different ways to wear this headgear.
