Construction Update #7

Yesterday afternoon Mike and I ran to Menard's to pick up medicine cabinets that we wanted inset into the bathroom walls of our new house.  They were issuing a severe weather advisory so we made it a quick trip.  The temperature dropped from 35 to the low 20's in a matter of several hours and it was spitting rain and snow which was making the roads slick.

I only mention all this because we expected it to be a quiet uneventful evening when we got home.  But at around 5 pm there was some activity over at the construction site.  A backhoe arrived with two operators and they were kept busy digging a hole in the front of the house for at least an hour.  We assume they were our geothermal heating guys because that is where they will be working.

Mike was really bummed that they were doing this work at the house so late because this was the night he wanted to sneak his truck into the new garage.  He had to wait for the backhoe operators to leave and by that time his truck was covered in snow.  Nevertheless, he did put his truck in the garage at the new house and came back to the shed to tell me the good news.  It fit lengthwise with inches to spare.
