Construction Update #16
We have had the bricklayers, dry wallers and the geothermal company here this week.
Bricklayers: They were here everyday except Thursday when we had rain. They started at the back of the house and will continue to work on it next week.

Dry Wallers: They are in the process of putting the second coat of mud on all the seams. Sometime next week they should be able to move on to texturing the ceilings. To keep my spirits up, Larry told us that the paint has been ordered.
Geothermal Company: They bored the three water line loops under the timber (or ground). These loops are used to circulate water to provide heat or cooling depending on the outside temperature. This digging process upset a groundhog who startled the geothermal workmen when he came running out of his den and straight at them.
The geothermal company will return to hook the loops from the yard to the pipes from the basement and then the job will be complete. We would like this to happen sooner rather than later as the dry wallers are using the existing electrical lines to power their inefficient portable heaters. They need the heat to dry the mud they are putting on our dry wall seams. The electric company called Mike to let him know that there was a large jump in our electrical usage in the last two weeks.
