A New Camera

We had an outdoor camera that we used to take pictures of wildlife.  The camera was hung outside on a tree and when an animal drew close the motion detector would sense the movement and snap a picture. The camera broke.  So we got another one.

We found the new camera at Buckheit's.  It was a one day only sale and it was a third of the normal price.  This seemed like such a good deal we decided we had to have it.

Mike immediately installed the 8 AA batteries it required and hung it on a tree at the edge of the former bean field.  The first night we had 560 pictures.  It seems the motion detector is working just fine.  The camera had slid down the tree a little ways and was facing down towards the ground.  Every time a leaf blew by it took a picture.

So Mike changed the camera placement and the number of pictures went down dramatically.  The night before we had about 100 pictures.  Most of them had nothing but a branch in the picture.  Every time the branch moved into camera range we got a picture.  Mike got rid of the branch yesterday.

Still the camera has captured some pictures that were not leaves or branches.  Here they are.

Here Mike is testing the camera by driving by in on the RZR.

Mike says this is a skunk.
That is a white stripe down its back.

Mike says these two pictures are of the same skunk.  Skunks only come out when there is a moonlight.

Here's us after we setup the camera.
I was calling the other dogs.
A picture of a fox taken in the daylight.
