Mike says Mabel, his basset hound, is a wonder dog. I'm thinking Mabel may have some competition for that title. Since moving to the pond, Gracie, my dachshund, has begun showing some hitherto unknown talents.
I've mentioned that she has turned into a fisher dog. She loves to go fishing with Mike in his boat. In fact, Mike says she gets so excited when he catches a fish that I may have to purchase a life vest for her. He says it is just a matter of time before she falls out of the boat.
Just this week, we have discovered another one of her interests. Gracie is a mushroom hunting dog. Mike and Bill have gone out hunting mushrooms everyday this week and Gracie is always eager to accompany them. Here she is in action.

So this is why I think Gracie should be called the wonder dog. At least, she is a wonder to me.
