Picking Strawberries

We picked 20.76 pounds of strawberries today.  We ate about 3 pounds at dinner.  Only 17.76 pounds to go.

Emily, Suzanne, Laura, Heath and I drove to Belleville today and spent the morning at Eckert's Farm.  Besides the berry picking they have a store (with a bakery), a custard stand, a nursery and a restaurant.  Emily bought their cookbook which I hope will help us find ways to use up these strawberries.

I was focused on filling my basket with ripe strawberries.

Whereas, Emily and the team of Suzanne and Heath got into a contest.
Suzanne and Heath concentrated on only collecting aesthetically pleasing traditionally shaped strawberries.
Emily like the really weirdly shaped looking berries.  Here she holds her favorite - a crab shaped berry.
