What do you do with over 200 fresh Morel mushrooms?

Our mushroom hunter correspondent, Bill Peterson, sent the following update.

Well this update is a little late. On 28 April we found 20 mushrooms and today, April 29, we found 10 mushrooms . This gives us 30 mushrooms on the last two days. For a grand total for the year of 239. We are way below normal mushroom totals for the year. But me and Mike are still trying. 😁😡😢

So, Lois, has 239 mushrooms in her refrigerator.  Well, it turns out she had 239 mushrooms in her refrigerator.  A few of us have eaten some or lots. Bill served them at my dinner party Saturday night but he had to cook them in my kitchen and I did not have a fryer.  So last night, he invited me over to Lois and Frank's house to have more cooked mushrooms but this time he used Lois's fryer.  It was agreed by Lois, Frank, Bill and myself that this was the way to go.

Lois cut and soaked the mushrooms in water.  The water is drained several times until it no longer gets dirty.
Then the mushrooms are soaked in salted water.

Bill uses a strainer to drain the mushrooms and then he rolls them in dry Bisquick.

Once Bill has a decent size group of mushrooms covered in Bisquick, he puts them in the fryer.

The results.  Definitely delicious.
