More Concrete

We have been living in the house for over three weeks now.  We have yet to use the front door.  There are two reasons for this.  One, is that if you are inside the house and open the front door, it is way too far a step down.  Two, if you are on the outside, it is too muddy to even walk up to the front door.  So today, we made a few changes.  We arranged for a concrete company to remedy this problem and add some parking space in front of our garage.

We were awakened this morning by the arrival of the concrete brigade.  They caught us unprepared.  Mike had to quickly move our vehicles out of the garage and out of their way.  By the time we were finished breakfast, we were very nearly trapped in our own house.  Some of the guys were laying forms around the front door for a concrete pad and sidewalk and the rest of them were laying forms around the garage door so we could have a concrete parking pad there.  When the cleaning ladies arrived around noon, Mike had to drive them one by one in the Polaris from their parked car down and around to the walk in basement entrance at the back of the house.  The ladies were very nice about it but had to admit they had never gotten to work this way before.
