A Day with the Cubs
When we moved from Houston to Illinois, Emily and I assumed Mike would be viewing more Cub games in person. Up until last week, even though he has been here through two baseball seasons, Mike had only seen the Cubs play live once and that was at the Cardinal stadium in St. Louis. But Emily finally wore him down and he and she attended a Cubs game in Chicago at Wrigley Field.
Since this was a spur of the moment decision, they ended up buying tickets in the bleachers. Turned out this was a great place to be. They got to the stadium as the doors opened so they could be in line to pick their bleacher seats. They ended up in right field in the first row. Can you find them?
Here is a better picture of Emily wearing the blue shirt. Mike held their seats while she went to buy this shirt. He prefers her in shirts that cover more of her so he went back after the game and bought her another one. Can you tell the winner of the game based on that shirt?
It turns out Mike had an ulterior motive for sitting in the front row of the bleachers. He wanted a piece of the Wrigley field ivy to grow on his own retaining wall at home. Unfortunately, the Cubs posted a guard named Dominque at the end of the row and she kept an eagle on that ivy among other things. Too bad. Maybe he should try again and take me with him this time.

Actually since I retired on Oct 1 last year, and the Cubs almost never play in October, I've only been in Illinois for a portion of 1 baseball season.
Next time take a selfie stick to the game and ask Dominique to be in a photo with you. Then snag some ivy when she's occupied. Must have selfie stick. Do you have selfie stick?
