Relaxing over Labor Day weekend
Mike and I were pretty much by ourselves this holiday weekend. Laura was visiting friends in Columbia, Missouri. Emily went to Holiday World and Suzanne went to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mike and I just stayed home and dog sat Blackie.
Laura called Saturday and said she would stop by late Sunday night, spend the night and then leave on Monday with Blackie. She said she would be in our neck of the woods about 8 pm. We planned to be in Greenville at that time so we told her to meet us there.
Laura caught up with us in the Greenville Bradford Bank parking lot along with approximately 5997 other people watching a Little River Band concert. Then afterwards we stayed in our lawn chairs and watched some fireworks.
All of this was part of Greenville's 200th birthday weekend celebration. They had blocked off several blocks around the square and had parades, historical reenactments, birthday cake, contests and games.
The next morning we got Laura up early because Mike promised to make her french toast for breakfast. It was so good he took some over to Frank and Lois. Then Mike and Laura went kayaking before she took Blackie home. It was nice of Laura to drop by and liven up our relaxing stay at home weekend.
