Laura Flannery's Visit

The Flannery's were neighbors of ours when we lived in Texas.  They have three girls and we have three girls.  Their daughter Jessica was in the same grade as our daughter Suzanne and their daughter Laura was in the same grade as our daughter Emily.  In some ways, it was like having two more daughters in the family since the girls did so much together.  So Mike and I were very excited when Emily told us that Laura Flannery was going to be able to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with us.

Laura arrived on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday.  It turns out that she takes even more pictures than I do and she doesn't even write a blog.  So I asked for some of her pictures to use here.  Based on this pictorial evidence, I'd say she had a good visit.  Hopefully, we will be able to repeat it next year.

Laura's face when she finally arrived at our house.
Only kidding, sort of!  Her GPS took her on a short cut to get to our house that
involved a dirt road and a cow.  It was a good thing the ground wasn't wet at all
or she definitely would have gotten stuck.
Emily is a great hostess.  She kept Laura busy the entire four days.
On the very first night, Emily arranged for her and Laura to roast
marshmallows over a campfire in our backyard.
Fortunately, Emily had let me in on her plans
and I had graham crackers and hershey bars ready for s'mores.
Laura was a guest so I couldn't put her to work or could I?  Since she comes from an
artistic family I put her in charge of making the Thanksgiving table favors and once
they were done she was assigned official Thanksgiving photographer duties.   Here's
