Paddle Boarding Over Christmas

Mike and I bought a stand up paddle board for the pond at a Black Friday sale.  It was just too good a deal to pass up.  We never intended for anyone to actually use the board until next summer.  What were we thinking?

On December 19, 2015, Mike moved the stand up paddle board from the pond into
winter storage up at the shed.  On December 25, 2015, he had to get it back out at
our girls insistence.

Laura really likes to use the stand up paddle board.  Over the summer, she had spent a lot of time on one while visiting friends.  She had suggested to me on several occasions that we should have one at our pond so it didn't surprise me much that she wanted to check it out.

Then Emily and Suzanne wanted to try.  However, they didn't want to each take a turn.  They wanted to ride it together.  They did manage to succeed at that but only with Suzanne sitting down which meant her toes, fingers and rear end were all wet and cold.  Thank goodness for the fireplace.

Fortunately it didn't take long for the girls to decide to quit paddle boarding and return to the nice warm house.  Mike took the opportunity to remove the paddle board from the pond once more and retire it for the winter.
