Enjoying our Snow Day

Today was the first snow day of this winter season.  Supposedly we got about three inches.  This meant that Mike began the day shoveling snow.

First he shoveled the concrete pad outside our garage
and the sidewalk to the front door.
Then he walked over to the shed and
shoveled a walkway all around the building.

Then he went over to his folks house to
see how well the new electric walkway
was working.  It was suppose to provide
a safe path free of snow and ice when plugged in.
Looks like it worked.

Then Mike ran to town and while there he dropped by and shoveled Don and Delia's driveway.
I think his whole motivation for that deed was so he could finally meet Buddie, Don and Delia's new dog.

When Mike returned from town, we took the time to sit in our great room and look at the beautiful white scene outside our window.  It wasn't all peaceful and quiet.  We saw a fox and a hoot owl but by the time we got the camera out to take a picture of the fox he was behind a bush.  And then when we went out on the balcony to try and get a better shot he ran across the pond.  This is the best photo we were able to take.

At least now it really feels like winter.
