Frankie

Hello faithful blog readers! This is Laura. I've always wanted to write a blog post. Last December, I chicken sat for my parents while they visited Suzanne in Florida and I wanted to write a blog post about it because I felt that my chicken-sitting abilities were being questioned (in the blog) and felt the need to defend myself. But, unfortunately, I never got to write a blog post. But now's my chance! So here it goes!
Me and Frankie! Not his most flattering picture, I'll admit, but I was so worried Emily was going to demand him back that I didn't care! Of the 4 hour drive home, I got to hold Frankie for about 45 minutes. No complaints. That's about 44 more minutes than I thought I'd get!

As you know, we spent the long weekend driving to Indiana to pick up the newest addition to our family: Frankie Four-Legs. I'm not going to lie: Frankie is cute and all, but that was one of the longest drives EVER! I was very happy to be home. I think Grandpa and Grandma were happy we were home too; or at least, they were happy to meet Frankie. That was probably one of the coolest anniversary gifts they got. Frankie fell asleep in Grandma's arms almost instantly. I didn't think she was going to let us take him home!

Frankie's first night home was a little rough. Or at least, that's what I heard. I was lucky enough to sleep in the shed so his howling and barking didn't bother me a bit! And while Mom and Dad claim they hated it and they might not enjoy Frankie's presence as much once Emily goes back to school (if they can get her to leave Frankie, that is) they obviously weren't that bothered. That's right parents! A picture is worth 1000 words!
There is still one bassett hound puppy left from where we got Frankie and while Grandpa and Grandma claim they have enough dogs, they seem to really enjoy hanging out with Frankie. The first thing Grandma did when she came over tonight was sit down with Frankie in her lap. She only let go when food was placed in front of her! Even Grandpa was impressed when he feel asleep on his lap after dinner. His "no"s when Grandma said Frankie could come and sleep in her chair with her anytime became less and less frequent as the evening wore on...

Is there another puppy in the Petersons' near future??????

Footnote: AK-Your intercom was used in the making of this blog post. However, I may be unplugging the one in the shed-there are rumors of using it to scare me in the middle of the night with Frankie's howls.

Great guest blog! It was like I was right there!!! You are a better blogger than you are a chicken sitter.

Great to know a present is being used - so where are the other 2 intercoms located?

I feel both complimented and insulted at the same time.
