Using our Christmas Presents

We had a practical gift giving Christmas this year.  Everyone has been busy using their presents.  Suzanne's gifts were so practical she opened hers before Christmas to use them for Christmas baking. She received a food processor and mixing bowls.  Here are some updates on the rest of the family.

Kathy gave Laura a sewing machine/craft table for her apartment.
Laura placed it in her guest bedroom right next to her desk.

Emily is still on her winter break and she is staying with us.
I have been doing more cooking then when it is just Mike and I.
This kitchen towel boa that Laura gave me has come in handy.
It has brown towels sewn to both ends.  I can wipe
my hands on it instead of stopping to find a towel or
just wiping my wet hands on my clothes.  Not that I would ever do that.

Mike, Frank and Lois gave me a Janome sewing machine for Christmas.  The last few days both Emily and I have been using it.  Let the sewing marathon begin.

Emily on the new machine.  She really likes it.
She wanted me to be sure to pass this information on to Aunt Kathy.

Emily's completed project.
Another apron but this is in her favorite color- orange.

When Emily was cutting fabric and ironing, I would sneak on the machine.
I made these appliqued tea towels.

My parents gave Mike money for Christmas.  He used it to help purchase this item Emily found on the Internet.  Mike and Emily plan to go pick him up next weekend.
