Mushroom Hunting Week Two
The mushroom hunters have settled into a bit of a routine. Mike begins the day by taking our dogs for a walk through the timber which is his normal routine whether it is mushroom hunting or not. However, he is taking longer walks now because he keeps looking for Sycamore trees the might have morel mushrooms growing at their base. No one has said anything to me but I sense that Bill and Lois do not like Mike getting this head start on the day. I picked this up from Mike because he says his mother keeps telling him that she doesn't want to share her best mushroom hunting spots with him even though they are on Mike's property.
Mike is not always successful at finding mushrooms on his walk. Sometimes he finds other things. Like this intact deer skeleton.
Annual stories of mushroom hunting have enticed two of our girls to try their hand at it this year. Both Laura and Emily plan to come this weekend and learn from the masters. I hope there are still some mushrooms left by then.
