Guest Fisherman
On Sunday evening, Hunter, Alison and Nathan dropped by to feed the fish. Hunter was not as big into fish feeding as he was cleaning the moss out of the pond but he still had a great time. He also had all the fish lingo down. He was telling us all about blue gill, bass and channel cat. We told him he could come fishing any time. He said he would come and bring his red pole.
When we told Hunter he could come fishing any time we were figuring he would show up when school let out in a week or two. Hunter had a different date in mind. He and his mom showed up the very next day around one o'clock. He even brought his after school snack with him.
Mike was concerned that we might have a hard time finding worms so Hunter sent his mother home to grab his red fishing pole and some worms. He suggested she write this down but she assured him that she would remember.
First thing, Mike and Hunter went digging for worms. For awhile all they were finding were small ones but Hunter was diligent and they find found some bigger worms.
Then the main event began. Mike brought over a boat seat for Hunter to sit on and Mike grabbed one of our poles for him to use. Mike put on the worms and cast the pole and Hunter took it from there. As the afternoon progressed, Hunter took over casting the pole too. In a two hour time frame, Hunter caught 14 fish. His very last cast was for a one and one half pound bass. He definitely considered it a great day.
