Official S'more and Wine Station

Frank and Lois gave me an outdoor fire pit for my birthday.  We had to leave it in the box for awhile because we had no place to put it.  The removal of the mountain of dirt had left a huge dirt patch in our backyard and beyond and we did not want to get the new fire pit dirty.  However, the fourth of July weekend seemed the best time for an unveiling.  So we made plans to make s'mores.  And then it rained.

As you can tell from previous blog posts, Emily was undeterred by rain.  She still managed to swim, fish, paddle boat, paddle board (and sink the paddle), ride horses, and play bags in the back yard all in the rain.  Much to our surprise she managed to convince the rest of the guests to do so too.  So we knew rain was not going to be an acceptable excuse to avoid using the fire pit.  Fortunately Mike is a resourceful guy and a great shopper.

Mike had spotted Timbertote logs at Rural King in Litchfield months ago.  According to their website, they the wave of the future.

'Our design is simple, user friendly and ultimately eco friendly. Our product comes ready to light with a handle for easy transportation. It will completely burn out and down to next to nothing with minimal cleanup. The perfect design for the perfect One Log Campfire!'

So Mike drove forty minutes to go get one and their claims proved true.  It was a great fire and we got to roast marshmallows.  Now we need to buy another one so that we can sit by the fire one night and drink our wine.
