Rain, Rain Go Away

Emily brought a few of her friends to the pond for the fourth of July weekend.  In fact, two of them had come the year before on the fourth of July and wanted to return.  I wanted them to return too.  It had been a fun weekend.  This year Laura joined them.

Unfortunately, it rained.  That did not happen last year.  I was worried this would dampen their fun.  (Pun intended).  But I reckoned without Emily's desire to be on the go.  She kept her friends busy while I made sure they had enough to eat and dry clothes and towels.

Roasting marshmallows for s'mores (in the rain)

Fishing in the paddle boat wearing slickers and towels (in the rain).
These kids are not as crazy as it may look.  Mike, our weatherman, told them the storm front would pass by us at any moment so they went ahead and started fishing.  Mike was wrong.

Horseback riding with the neighbors (in the rain).

Swimming and blasting on the blob in the rain because you are already wet.

Playing Bags (in the rain)
