Illinois Tourism

Last week, Sela and Eli visited.  We kept them busy at the pond but sometimes we took them to other places in Illinois.

To Mike's favorite soft pretzel restaurant in St. Peters Illinois

To the former state capital in Vandalia Illinois where
Abe Lincoln once walked on these very floors.

To the DeMoulin museum in Greenville.
Here a local TV crew had the same idea.
Even though DeMoulins is more well known for making uniforms, the museum
is equally devoted to all the pranks the company created for lodge initiations.

Often the initiate was blindfolded and some trick was performed on him- water in the face,
a spanking, etc.  Here the initiate is riding a 'bucking goat'
To Edison Entertaining Complex in Edwardsville.

Also at the Edison Complex.
Also in Edwardsville is the popcorn store which is always a draw for our visitors.

Back closer to the pond, our guests went rock pile climbing.
And needless to say, we enjoy all these tourist attractions too.
Here Emily is exercising at the new trampoline place in Edwardsville.
Answers to Monday's questions-

1.  Popcorn is the Illinois state snack food.  Illinois is the third largest producer of popcorn in the U.S.
2.  Illinois produces more pumpkins that any other state in the U.S.
3.  Illinois produces 85% of the world's horseradish.
