Shopping and Disneyland

Outside of spending time with family and friends or visiting beaches, the other two popular activities on our vacation were shopping and going to Disneyland.

The girls went shopping at the South Coast Plaza in Newport Beach.  I am proud to say that they made all their purchases at the Macy's clearance rack and then headed home.  All the rest of the stores were way out of their price range.  To make up for this Jonna invited them shopping in Manhatten Beach.  They had good luck at the stores she recommended and she was a great help when fashion decisions needed to be made.

The store Jonna took the girls for clothes shopping.
Based on the logo, I would say it was a good choice.

Red, the dog, and my nephew Jackson were not able to join us at Disneyland but everyone else made an appearance.  Some were there from 9 am until an hour before the midnight closing.

Suzanne, Emily and Jonna on the Matterhorn while Mike and I were on
'It's a Small World'.  In case you have any doubt, the person who chose to
ride 'It's a Small World' was not Mike.

I did eventually make it to the Matterhorn.
However, I refused to go on Space Mountain and...
I'm pretty sure I managed not to go on this ride either.
Mike and I found the Starbucks on Main Street and that because a meeting place for our group throughout the day.  While there we particularly got a kick out of listing in on the 1890's party line on the old fashioned telephone.

Of course, a trip to Disneyland is not complete unless one meets some Disney characters.  Mike and I were resting in 'Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln' when Minnie dropped by.  And somehow Emily caught up with one of her favorite Disney villains.
