What can a 7 year old and a 4 year old do at the Pond?

Hunter and Allison came to spend the day with us on Saturday.  It was a very overcast day and I was afraid it would rain at any minute.  I was not sure we would be able to keep them happily entertained for the whole day.  However, when their parents came to get them, the kids asked to come back the next day so I think we were successful.

Hunter wanted to use the salt gun to shoot flies.
However, here he is actually practicing on a crumb.

Mike made the kids his famous French Toast and
Allison paid him back by making his favorite cookies.

Mike sharing his toys with the kids.
He is sitting in the chair over on the far left and
using the controller to fly his helicopter around the room.

Hunter found a foam dart gun in the toy cabinet.
I printed him a fire breathing dragon target to give him something
non living to shoot at.
We finally decided that it was not going to rain so we took the kids outside.  First we went on the Aquaglide and Watermat.  Alison and Hunter were not too pleased to learn that the big kids (Emily and her college student friends) had broken all the handles.  Nevertheless they figured out a way to use the water mat to get to the blob step and work their way on to the trampoline.  From there they would jump off and then repeat the process all over again.

Then we went fishing.  Hunter caught 2 more bass to add to the one he had previously caught at our pond.  He also caught 10 blue gill.  Allison got bored watching him fish and decided to give it a try.  She caught a blue gill or two and then snagged a catfish.  It gave her quite a fight but eventually got away.
