Diehard Cubs Fans

I went to Wrigley Field last week to watch a couple of Cubs games.  I am not a huge baseball fan but my companions are.  I went with Mike, his brother Bill, and Emily.  Part of the trip was a birthday present to Mike from his wife and daughters.

The first night we sat in the bleachers.  Bleacher seats are not assigned so we got in line for seats about three hours before game time.  (The gates open two hours before game time.)  While waiting in line I started reading the bricks in the sidewalk.  These are commemorative bricks engraved with fan names and messages.  Most of the messages are names and maybe a 'Go Cubs' phrase or recognizing the worlds biggest Cubs fan.  Others remember a particular game or a particular moment at a game including engagements.  However, others weren't quite so positive or showed a bit of impatience.

Of course, my companions were in a great mood.  Bill was very happy because he had never been to Wrigley Field before.  Emily was happy because every time she attends a game at Wrigley Field they win so she had high hopes and sure enough they did win.  And winning always makes Mike very happy.
