Vine to Wine Run/Walk

St. Louis has the 'Run for the Chocolate" but Greenville has the 'Vine to Wine Run'.  The 'Vine to Wine Run' was a scenic race through wide country roads and picturesque scenery including an historic wooden railroad bridge.  It was held this last weekend for the first time ever and 500 people participated.  The event promoters were thrilled at the turnout.

There were some differences between the two runs.  The 'Run for the Chocolate' gives out chocolate during the run and afterwards.  The 'Vine to Wine Run' only gave out wine immediately afterwards and some people needed to show their ID to get that (Emily).  On the other hand, the 'Vine to Wine Run' had different local organizations set up as cheerleaders along the run course and was definitely more scenic overall.

Also, once you ate the chocolate at the 'Run for the Chocolate' all evidence of your participation in the event was gone.  Unlike the Wine run, where participants were able to keep their wine glass.  (I gave mine to Laura so she could double the amount of wine glasses she owns.)

I got an email from the Bond Country Runners group today.  They said to watch my email for next years date.  I will definitely do that as I think this would be a great Peterson tradition.
