Laura's birthday lunch
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Illinois and Missouri Peterson's decided to celebrate Laura's 26th birthday a few weeks early. Emily came to the pond Friday night and then the three of us jumped in the car Saturday morning and met Laura at her apartment. From there we went to a restaurant that everyone enjoys for lunch and then to Hank's cheesecake to grab dessert.
I could have preordered a cheesecake from Hank's but I did not. I knew that four different Peterson's would want four different flavors of cheesecake and I was right. So we each ordered a slice of cheesecake and took it back to Laura's wonderfully decorated apartment and ate it there. Laura had never been to Hank's before and she thought the cheesecake looked so good she ordered a mini sampler to take with her to a dinner party that evening. She said it was a big hit.
Since Laura had plans for the evening, Emily, Mike and I headed on home. We just happened to pass a oak furniture shop Mike and I had wanted to check out so we stopped in to browse. Emily was very happy to spend more quality time with her parents. I think I found our future dining table while there and we still made it home in time for Mike and Emily to watch game 6 of the National League Playoffs. Definitely a good day.
