Visiting Suzanne
Based on yesterday's blog, my readers may think that all I did while visiting Suzanne was drink coffee and eat other countries food. Not so.
Suzanne and I were very social. We caught up with a friend of her's from high school (at the Denton ice cream shop) and met Heath's mom (at the food trucks in Dallas) and made a new friend named Reggie. Reggie is a fourteen month old St. Bernard who was with his owners at an outdoor cafe in Denton. We also went shopping at the Recycled Book store in Denton with Suzanne's roommate Caitlin.
Besides drinking coffee, socializing and eating, Suzanne, and I squeezed in some cultural events. We went to see the movie 'La La Land' with Heath. When we bought our ticket we actually picked our seat?! (What is up with that? The Greenville Globe does not have that option.) We went to a wine bar with Suzanne's friend Taylor and listened to flamenco guitar music. Heath and I visited the homes in the Denton Historical Park and the tour guide included ghost stories in her presentation. And we went to the Dallas Art Museum which was free. Pretty nifty. Heath and his mom, Stacy went with us.
I also have to include the food trucks in Dallas under cultural events even though they involved food. I ate half a grilled cheese sandwich from the Best Grilled Cheese Truck of 2015 (Suzanne ate the other half). Not something I would have been able to do in Mulberry Grove.
I had a great time with Suzanne, her friends and her soon to be family. I do not think I will have a hard time adjusting to being home though. When Mike met me at the plane, he brought coffee.
