Big Plans

Now that we have moved the dumpster and that ugly tree limb, I should have been pleased with the view from the top of my drive down to the pond.  However, something is missing.  I think we need a gazebo.  Fortunately, the timing was right to get one.  I was able to convince Mike to buy a gazebo as we could use it for the wedding.

So Mike found a website where we could buy a gazebo-in-a-box.  This means they deliver it and we (meaning Mike) put it together.  They have a video on the website of all these people saying how easy it is to put together.  We shall see.  In the meantime, the gazebo was scheduled for delivery at the end of February.

Lucky us (not), the gazebo ended up being delivered in the three hour window of a tornado warning.  I mention this because the pictures below are terrible.  I was only willing to venture out in the rainy weather so far to get these pictures.

Truck delivering gazebo parked at end of driveway.

There were several gazebos on the truck but this one is ours.
The driver unloaded our gazebo package and pulled it up the driveway with a fork lift
that was attached to the back of his truck.  Gary stayed and talked to us until the wind died down.
According to him, we had the best gazebo on the truck.  I asked.
Every since delivery, Mike has been studying the plans and purchasing items that he needed for the site preparation.

Just yesterday he unloaded them from the truck and did some cutting.  This will be the size of the base of our gazebo.  The white item in the picture is our still unwrapped gazebo delivery.

And here is a picture of the weather today.  I guess we will have to delay site preparation for awhile.
