Geese Protest Further Development

Tuesday morning early, I headed outside to take my daily walk.  The dogs came with me as far as the front yard.  That's when I realized our pair of geese were on the pond.  They began honking.  This did not bother me because they like to taunt the dogs.  I just continued down the driveway on my walk.

I was gone about one hour and when I returned there was a big truck at the end of the driveway.  Mike was talking to the driver.  Morton Building Number two had arrived.

After Mike and the truck driver conferred.  The driver backed his truck up the driveway.

The driver parked at the head of the driveway and then, he and Mike walked over to the construction site.

That's when I heard honking.  The two guys stayed on the gravel but the geese were not happy.  They honked the entire time the guys talked and then flew off in a huff.  Keep in mind the guys are on the far side of the bean field from the pond and they were only talking to each other not shouting or moving about.  In fact, we had not even begun to move the building trusses, etc to the job site.  I think these geese were being awfully unreasonable.  No one was bothering them.  Anyway, once they were gone the driver unloaded the truck using the fork lift he had brought with him.

Eventually the truck was unloaded.  Now we have to wait for the construction crew.  In the meantime, the geese have returned.  Yesterday morning they planted themselves right behind the house and the back fence.  This drove Buddy, the golden retriever, nuts because he could see the interlopers through the fence slats but could not get near the water to properly warn them away.  His barking woke me up.

I wonder what the geese will do when the construction crew shows up?
